Some more unseasonable inspiration: 50s sweaters

So I know I just posted about berets, but I've also been dreaming about 50s sweaters lately. *sigh*

I found one like this on etsy. It was bubble gum pink with the over sized collar.  Alas, someone snatched it out from under me while I was saving up.

I've also been knitting lately. Knitting makes me appreciate knit wear so much more!

A lovely striped boarder is so chic!

I love the color blocking!

A lace pattern is so elegant. Plus I've discovered that I love knitting lace patterns.

Stripes!

Do you have a favorite sweater? I just snagged a cute vintage pink one! :D

  1. Look at the attitude on the girl in the stripes! I'll bet no one messed with her.
I have some vintage sweater patterns and a retro-inspired book for knitting - but the hardest part is picking a color.

  2. These are all great sweaters. I want to make a couple of pull-overs before I knit anything too fancy. I love the look of the last woman. Sassy.

  3. Love these! I'm really starting to think I need a striped sweater in my wardrobe!

  4. These are gorgeous, particularly the color-blocked one. My current favorite sweater is brand new, but it's a navy blue cardigan with white polka dots. How can you beat that?

  5. Sweaters (be they vintage or vintage appropriate) a major wardrobe staple (I'd go so far as to say "cornerstone") for me, and I wear them all year round, even during the toasty summer months, so this post is right up my alley. I'm hard pressed to pick a favourite sweater or cardi from amongst my collection, but of the terrific examples here, I'd probably opt for the first one because the of the cool oversized collar.
