Disney Day

It was Will's birthday last week so we decided to do another Disney day! Originally, we had planned on visiting Animal Kingdom since that was the only park we haven't been to since moving to Florida but on the way there, we decided to go to Epcot instead. Alas, I was already attired for Animal Kingdom so my outfit isn't as cute as I'd like. (Because, you know, what you're wearing is the most important part of a Disney trip.... ;) )

Anyways, I decided to just bring the video camera again so here's a little vlog of our day! Enjoy!

Be a Princess

Disney World is one of my favorite places to go especially the Magic Kingdom! So I was super excited to spend the day there with my hubby and a few friends.

Ever since I got this Pin Up Girl Clothing skirt, I knew I had to wear it to the Magic Kingdom one day and that day has arrived! It was so much fun to run around in a very princess-y skirt all day.

It was quite busy the day we went so I didn't get any shots in front of the castle but I did stop in a secluded pathway to grab a couple quick iPhone photos for you guys. The weather was gorgeous so a lot of people had the same idea to visit Disney as we did.

I did have a lot of people compliment me on this skirt. It's so pretty! It kind of makes me wish that I had worn my tiara too but the last time I wore a tiara around Disney, it ended up getting broken and I didn't want that to happen again. :(

So who is your favorite Disney princess? My favorites are Belle and Snow White.

Princess for a Day

I love getting to dress up so Halloween has always been a fun holiday for me but there are definitely less opportunities for dress up events as an adult. Boo. So I decided to dress up a bit on Friday to work just because I could.

Now, we weren't having an office party or anything so I just stuck with something a bit subtle. I pulled out my castle print skirt from Pin Up Girl clothing (even though it's not in my fall Project 333... more on that next week) and added a tiara for instant princess.

I've always thought that this print looked like Sleeping Beauty's castle so I ran with the pink and blue theme. Make it pink! Make it blue!

I'd love a changing color dress though. Someone should really work on that.

When picking out my outfit, I definitely wanted something easy to wear. I also wanted something nice and light since I do work at a church with a school on site. For me personally, it's much easier to over sensitive to workplace dress codes rather than to push the limits.

Besides, as I like to remind my husband, I am a princess. My name means "crowned" after all.

And as a Christian, I'm the daughter of a king aka a princess. :D It makes the girly part of me want to squeal.

I think every girl deserves to have at least one tiara because they make you feel fabulous. And who doesn't like sparkly things? I'd probably wear one every day if I could get away with it.

This is currently the only one I have. It's actually from my wedding and was a bit on the pricey side but it's really great quality.

It's still going strong six years later and has out lived several others which broke or became dull and tarnished.

Speaking of hanging on, this skirt has almost been purged several times. I went through an antipink phase for a while and I just didn't care too much for it. But I always held on to it because it just needs to be worn to Disney.

Now that I've removed a lot of pink and brown from my closet, I've found that I do actually like pink and blue so this skirt is going to stay. And hopefully it will make it to Disney one day!

Have you ever dressed as a princess for the day? Do you have a tiara?

P.S. A not so princess worthy face I made at my husband when he was taking too long to get the lighting adjusted for his camera.

Dapper Day 2015

I went to my very first Dapper Day at WDW Hollywood Studios this weekend! It was so much fun to dress up and be at the park. I wasn't really sure what to expect but I was really floored by some of the great vintage and Disney Bound outfits I saw. And I even got to meet up with some friends who had gone vintage for the day. We decided not to bring the big camera along but I did bring my camcorder to vlog for the day. Enjoy!

I had totally forgotten about it until the night before when I saw a post on Facebook about it so I didn't really have time to plan a new outfit. I ended up just wearing my Snow White Disney Bound again and it got a lot of positive attention like last time. As for the next Dapper Day, I do plan on going as long as my schedule allows it and I hope to have a new Disney Bound by then!

Vlogging at Disney!

With my family in town last week, I didn't get any proper outfit photos! Oh, well. I did film a vlog from Epcot so you get two videos this week. Hope you enjoy this snippet of my Disney Bound adventures!

Vacation Week 2015

If you've been following me on Instagram, you've seen my adventures this past week. My family was in town visiting and we did a bunch of fun touristy things! I decided to leave the fancy camera behind and just do some Insta-blogging so here are a few of my snaps.

First, we hit Kennedy Space Center for some fun space adventures! While NASA doesn't do manned missions anymore, they still shoot off lots of rockets for satellites and such and several private companies are working on launching manned ships from the Kennedy Space Center.

While something 1960s would have been more appropriate, I went for an easy 1940s look that would be good for a day of walking around in big crowds.

Aside from some really cool space stuff, I spied these adorable vintage orange labels tucked off in a corner. So yummy!

And of course, all of the nerdy things! Even though I'm not much of a t-shirt person, I couldn't help but to snap a shot of this cute one.

Next up was Universal Studio's Islands of Adventure. Being a Disney buff, I've never made time for Universal so I was excited to see if it was as good as everyone says.

For this adventure, I wore my Mexican peasant blouse, 1950s pedal pushers and comfortable shoes. When you are going some place you've never been, it's always better to be a bit more conservative in your outfits. I went for pants because skirts and roller coasters don't really mix. The park ended up being smaller than I thought but I was happy that I wore sneakers.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was high on my list of must sees at Universal. It was really cool! They did a great job of really making it look like Hog's Mead but the fake snow was a bit annoying in mid summer.

All in all, it was a fun day but definitely nothing to compare with Disney. There were more roller coasters but also a lot of water rides and 3D rides neither of which are really my thing. Universal Studios original park has even more 3D rides (almost all!) so I couldn't image going there. I did like the Jurassic Park section but was bummed that it's ride was a water ride. :(

For dinner, we hit up the Hard Rock Cafe which was yummy!

After two days of big parks, we took a rest day at the beach. It was super calm and we were able to go in quite far and see pretty deep into the water. Thank goodness for sun screen and beach umbrellas because I ended up falling asleep and napping on the beach.

After a break day, we hit up Epcot and I took my video camera so look for a blog some time soon. After my Downtown Disney vlog, one of my readers suggested that I do a Disney Bound. So here it is! I had so much fun doing this. Several cast members and visitors noticed my Snow White Disney Bound. Someone even knew it was a Disney Bound. :) Can't wait to do this again!

One of my favorite things about Epcot is the food! We stopped in France for a snack and look at those yummies! My husband was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that is triggered by gluten similar to Celiac Disease and the staff at Disney were AMAZING with helping find gluten free options for him. Yay for Disney!

Another reason I love Epcot is all of the fabulous clothes from all the countries! I loved this ensemble from Morocco. We had dinner in Morocco and it was fabulous! I think I'm going to be learning how to make Middle Eastern food soon. I also did some shopping in Mexico. I know I just started the Project 333 but I'm feeling really inspired right now and it might not end well....

All in all, it was a great week with my family. I'm so sad they are gone already but we had a blast. Back to normal life next week.

Fit for a Princess

I shared my excitement about the new Disney Cinderella last week so when I finally got to see it, I just had to dress up! Thanks to an epic Pin Up Girl clothing sale last spring, I had the perfect skirt in my wardrobe already!

So, this skirt is Sleeping Beauty inspired but whatever, it's princess-y and I like it!

I adore navy so I had this great sweater to go with it. I suppose white or black or pink would also go as well but I don't like to be too sweet looking.

Anyways, the movie was quite epic. It told its own story will still remaining true to many of the things we love about the original animated version. No singing though. :(  (I have heard the live action Beauty and the Beast will have singing though!)

The film also had quite a few fabulous actresses including Lily James and Sophie McShera (Rose and Daisy, Downton Abbey), Holliday Grainger (Lucrezia, The Borgias), Helena Bonham Carter (Belatrix, Harry Potter) and Cate Blanchett (Galadriel, Lord of the Rings) to name a few.

I've not loved all of the live action Disney remakes but this one is good in my book! The costuming is also fabulous. It's sort of a mix of vintage, historical and fantasy elements. The evil step mother's costumes, hair and makeup, for example, scream 40s/50s glamor! Oh, so drool worthy!

I did manage to restrain myself enough to leave my tiara at home though!

Once Upon a Time

Sometimes an event comes along that just screams for a particular outfit. This weekend we had the pleasure of shooting a lovely wedding where the couple incorporated their love of cartoons into their big day!

So I just had to dress to match their theme! My Sleeping Beauty inspired skirt from Pin Up Girl Clothing. I've been dreaming of wearing this skirt to Disney but that will have to wait!

I just adore this skirt so much! It is so much fun to wear! But I do have a difficult time trying to decide what to wear with it. It has both blue and black but I don't really have a nice blue or black blouse to wear with it.

So I dug around in my closet and found this navy sweater. I quite love this sweater but I haven't worn it in a while. There's not really any navy in my skirt but it still works.

One of my favorite parts of this skirt is the twinkling stars in the sky and the wispy clouds. It's so dreamy!

I paired a this skirt with a medium sized crinoline. It would look fabulous with a fuller one but sometimes I need to fit into small spaces while shooting.

And of course, pearls go with everything! I'm still adoring this dainty pearl necklace that I got from the Renaissance Festival. It's so feminine!

What would you wear to a cartoon themed wedding?

Disney Day!

I was lucky enough to spend my birthday at Epcot this year!

I'm a huge Disney nerd but even at 25, there's no place better to spend your birthday than the happiest place on earth.

Epcot is my favorite Disney park because I love the countries! I've always wanted to travel to Europe.

Not to mention that you get to eat all of this amazing food! nom nom nom.

I opted to wear this great vintage dress since it was light weight and cool. It was 90F the day we went.

I purchased the parasol in China and it was great for keeping the sun off of my face.

We had such a blast running around like big kids all day!

For dinner, we ate at Chefs de France and had yummy French food.

It's the less fancy of the two French sit down restaurants but it is still really nice.

I just love Disney!
