For foundation, you just want something that matches your skin and has a matte finish. I personally prefer liquid foundations because powders don't give me any coverage at all. I currently use Kat von D's Lock It Tattoo foundation.

Retro Makeup by Lauren Rennells has a lot of great info on finding a good read for you (and on other make up too). I mostly found a good red for my by trial and error. A true red looks good on many complexions so that's a good place to start.Stephanie Lynnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04210449948990020456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4676620122743768137.post-57961514306650908542013-06-23T15:51:59.486-04:002013-06-23T15:51:59.486-04:00Thank you, a good basis for vintage make-up. Have you found that a liquid, powder, or creme-powder foundation is best to match a vintage aesthetic? And any tips about finding the right shade of red for your complexion?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17159585552950475068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4676620122743768137.post-91240711215514792442013-06-20T12:31:21.291-04:002013-06-20T12:31:21.291-04:00Great video, hon! I'm a die hard fan of MAC's Russian Red (I could wax poetically about it until I was blue in the face), but it took me years to find that shade and many failed, or not-quite-as-good attempts in the process. Since hitting on it, it's been my go-to red (though I do occasionally wear another red from the brand Red Apple Lipstick, because it's a bit more sparkly and sheer) and likely always will be so long as they keep producing it.

♥ Jessica Witchcrafted Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02992822472797191121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4676620122743768137.post-67793267065822351852013-06-20T03:56:52.347-04:002013-06-20T03:56:52.347-04:00The nude shadows from Benefit look good, I'm u...The nude shadows from Benefit look good, I'm using an HD brows palette, but the lighter colour is a little too yellow for me.

Red Lipstick is all about finding the right shade I think! I'm just in love with Besame Red Velvet or Cherry Red, I'm still looking for the perfect liner though.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01761498979701437994noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4676620122743768137.post-47260983229954814802013-06-19T23:34:16.463-04:002013-06-19T23:34:16.463-04:00Great tips! I just feel I look so unnatural with it on. However when I put on my coral lipstick or dark pink, closer to red, I feel more like myself. seannaapprovedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09546047220109216505noreply@blogger.com
