Wearable 1950s Makeup

There is a misconception that if you like vintage (in particular the 50s) you have to wear loads of makeup but that's not true! Here's my toned down 1950s look that's great for day or work. Enjoy!

  1. Terrific video and make-up look. This is so true - and something that isn't voiced often enough. If you look at the bulk of real world photos from the 40s and 50s, most women did not wear all that much make-up (especially compared to their modern counterpoints). A bit of mascara, powder, lipstick and maybe a little blush and/or eye shadow was was often all gals of this era sported (or needed - there's so much to be said or not overdoing it on the cosmetics front).

*PS* Thank you very much for your wonderfully nice comment on my vintage outfit post today, honey. Three cheers for favourite hats!

  2. I like your "blush brush". I think I need one of those. And I really like that Kat von D eyeliner. I'm more partial to a natural look and I even think I have that same color lipstick. Got it at the dollar store.

  3. This is a great video. I've noticed that a lot of people amplify their makeup for photos, which looks great but isn't practical for everyday. I often worry about not doing my makeup right because I just don't feel comfortable in that much makeup. I think I will be more comfortable with it now. Thanks!
