Last Chance

Sometimes you just have things that don't work. And that is the story of this dress.

It never fit quite right but I did tweak it a bit so it's better.

I think the green turtleneck helps a lot but I'm still on the fence about it.

I think the neckline is what throws me still. It's way high and just odd.

So what do you think? Does this dress deserve some more work or should this be it's last chance?

  1. Could you add a sleeve and loose the turtleneck? I think that would improve the dress. The general shape and fit look nice

  2. If the neckline is bothering you, you could change it, or even detach the bodice and make it a skirt. But it does look cute with the green.

  3. I concur - - perhaps alter the neckline, make is a bit more scooped. Maybe try a contrasting blouse like turquoise?? a glittery brooch, add a cardigan -- it'll be even cuter than usual! :-)
and I like the idea that if it still does not make you happy -- keep the skirt .

  4. I personally like the neckline, well, from what I could see of it. Anyway, I think that the problem is more the shirt you are wearing. Why not try the dress with a blouse that has a peter pan collar?

  5. I think you should add a collar to the neckline and wear it without the turtleneck. Perhaps even a fun collar. A peter pan one would be cute, or you could do it more like a dickey:

It would open up the neckline a lot.

  6. I think the skirt idea is wonderful idea. I had a dress with a wool top and brocade bottom and the wool top I hand washed it thinking it wouldn't shrink as it really had that old age odor and of course it shrank so now I am going to make it into a skirt.

  7. I actually really like it. The way you have paired it and it's shape (including the neckline). I actually have making a dress like this on my todo list for winter.
Of course, what is most important is how you feel in it, if it isn't right, then it isn't right.

  8. I think a scoop neck could do it wonders, or, as others have been suggesting, make it into a high waisted skirt!

  9. I love the peter pan collar idea. I definitely think it's the turtleneck throwing it off.

  10. I would make a V-neck and put a little sleeve on it, but I'm just not a great fan of winterdresses without sleeves :)

  11. I think it has good bones, so to speak, but I feel like a scooped, vee or sweetheart neckline might work a bit better. I don't dislike it as is now though at all, especially paired with that cozy turtleneck.
