Wicked!

Sorry for the radio silence! The husband and I had tickets to see Wicked Friday night and I, being the genius that I am, decided on Thursday that I really did want to make a new dress for the occasion. So I sewed like crazy on Thursday and Friday..... and didn't get the dress done on time. (But I did finish it to wear today so pictures are coming.)

This is what I wore instead:
hat-vintage
sweater- The Limited
broach- my great-grandmother's
skirt-vintage
shoes- boutique in Maine

I adore this circle skirt! I got it dead stock with the tags still on it! I believe it's taffeta but it has this great velvet floral print on it. Super fun!

I've been waiting ages to see this show and it was so worth it! We had front row seats so I got an eye full off all of the costumes (and shoes!). I did a Wicked inspiration post a while back and I think another one is in order. Asymmetrical Victorian-esque multicolored goodness!

I had a lot of positive response to my ensemble. I love wearing vintage out and about. People love it!

Wish I was going again! All of the actors were fabulous. I so miss being on stage. I was a drama nerd in high school.

If you've been following me on facebook, you already know that I dyed my hair Thursday. It was this gorgeous dark color with a reddish tint. Alas, it is no longer this color. It is positively plum and I'm not too excited about it. :( I'm so not in love with the purple (though I did have quite a few people say that they liked it) and it will be dyed some other color asap unless the color changes yet again.

  1. I love Wicked! I got to see it in the fall and loved it. Your outfit is also spectacular. :)

Re: hair color - How dark was the original color? I never had mine go purple, but I know some of the darkest reds tend to verge on being purple and I think I typically stayed with auburns. It may change again, it may not.

    1. The last picture is a pretty good representation of what it looked like right after I dyed it. When not in the light it was super dark brown/black but kind of glowed red. The color I got was called "reflective auburn black". Now it's a lighter purple-y dark color.

    1. What's worse is I actually thought about this earlier in the week and was all like "Nah, I don't need to sewing anything new." Ah, well. Live and learn.

  3. You look very cute! As for the hair dye, give it a few days or a couple of washes to see where the color ends up. I've been dyeing my hair red and it's always WAY brighter then I want it to be. After a couple of washes, it settles to it's true color.

  4. I think your blog is super cute - I'm enjoying all of your projects, but I am not a sewer or knitter. Just wanted to say that turquoise looks FABULOUS on you! You look especially great in this outfit!
