Oh, what a lovely hand sewn hem on a giant circle skirt. I lovingly stitched you through Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and then some. Why did you end up so unwearably long? *sigh* Now to cut, and pin and press and sew again.
I hate when that happens, so I put off hemming as long as I can. But now you have an excuse to watch another movie. Can't wait to see the skirt when it is done.
I thought about this post last night when I finally finished the 1940's dress I've been working on all week--too big, and the hem is uneven. And I measured that hem out carefully! Not sure why there is a one inch difference in the front. And too big, I have to take it in an inch on the side. Again, I measured carefully because I had to alter the pattern slightly. I think I may set it aside for a week or two before fixing it.

ReplyDeleteloved the skirt and the color and the fabric. Is this before or after you wore it?
ReplyDeleteIt was super long on Wednesday. It just needs to be a bit shorter to really work.
DeleteI know this is supposed to be about sewing, but POTC 4 is a great film!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful choice of colours for this skirt. I just love a vivid turquoise like that for vintage fashions (or just about anything else :)).

Oh no!!! I HATE it when I do stuff like that. You're right. SO very sad. But I can't wait to see it when you're done!
ReplyDeleteOh no! All that work for nothing! But the colour looks really fantastic. :) And an excuse to watch another film, right? :)
