Where to Buy 1950s Clothing

More shopping options for you this week! This time we're looking at 1950s reproduction companies.

Queen of Heartz:
Pin Up Girl Clothing:
Bernie Dexter:
Freddies of Pinewood:

  1. I've been doing a lot of window shopping these companies, must make the effort to save some money and actually buy something :)

  2. Thank you for sharing, and your opinions on fit.
I have a skirt from PUG, in the "Commuters" Mary Blair boarder print. I get so many compliments. I used to complain about the cost, not appreciating Made in the USA, but since taking sewing lessons, and living the work and detail that goes into creating a skirt, I am sure to defend the cost.
One of my other favorite sites to shop is Unique Vintage. I belong to their Dress of the Month Club, and though it's only in it's third month, the selections have been very cute, and well made. Now your size though, and size UP if in doubt. I won a two piece retro inspired suit that I also get a lot of compliments on. Though the description says it's mesh-lined it is not, so I just wear flesh colored big butt panties to solve that issue.
Lastly, Mod Cloth. Always cute clothes, why I haven't purchased more, I don't know. Soon. Though I did purchase a one piece, halter style in blue velvet which is absolutely dreamy. Fits great( thanks to reviews), and more compliments. It has not seen the sunshine yet as have only worn it to the hot tub in the PM, this weekend will bee the test!
    Thank you again!

  3. Awesome tips and video - that is so true about Freddies. Thankfully though I've always had good luck with their offerings that I've bought.

Ooohhh, I so run into that with necklines sometimes, too (and also with halters gaping way too much, because I have small, slopping shoulders and not an overly large bust). It's good to know I'm not alone there, but am of course sorry that you encounter that issue with some brands/styles, too. Camis and slips can help sometimes, but with some dresses, they look out of place you have to layer over the dress to try and hide the issue.

Have a great weekend, dear gal!
