Window Shopping

I'm not much of a car girl. In fact, I don't even drive. But there is still something about a classic car that makes my heart go pitter patter.

Maybe it's how cute they look with my vintage outfits.

Maybe I just love that someone has saved and cherished a little piece of history.

Maybe I just love the attention to detail and style that is often lacking in modern cars (to me anyways).

Whatever it is, I sure had a blast checking out old cars at a local car show.

One darling gentleman even offered to let me pose in his car for a photo!

Perhaps one day I'll get to own one of these lovelies but for now I'll just have to be content with window shopping!

More photos over on Flickr!

  1. I'm with you all the way, there really is something so powerfully captivating about vintage cars. If I won the lottery, a vintage ride would be one of the few extravagant purchases I'd allow myself to make.

Beautiful photos and outfit - car show days like really call for dressing up, in my books, and you certainly did just that in your awesome bbq print frock.

  2. Absolutely true... the best thing about a beautiful car is that it provides a perfect background for the exposition of a beautiful dress... and you really demonstrate this truth to perfection here :-)

  3. Love the cars! How do you get away with not driving in ohio? I would love to stop, but the bus system here is less than desirable.

    1. Well, I live close enough to school to walk and my husband drives me everywhere else I need to go. I've never been able to drive on my own so I don't really know what I'm missing.

  5. Oh, how I adore a lovely classic car!!! And here we have some wonderful eye candy with all the 50s dream cars. We actually have a 1947 Plymouth that is in need of restoration.

  6. I don't drive either but I love classic cars! It's great that the owner of that car let you get inside- I've had that too when I've gone to car shows :)

One day (when I do finally learn how to drive... and win the lottery) I hope to own a Chevy Bel-Air!

  7. Super cute! It's also nice they let you sit in the car too:) Did you get any comments on your lovely dress? I find people love it when you wear 50s attire for these events.

  8. I am a huge fan of vintage cars! I want that aqua blue one like RIGHT NOW! Whenever I go to Viva, I spend all of Saturday at the car show! I walk every row and just dream I can pick out anything I want!

I love your dress in this post! It is gorgeous!
